This Policy applies to individuals using Corust AI for personal purposes. It does not apply to data processed on behalf of enterprise or commercial customers (governed by separate agreements). We comply with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and we respect your rights under other relevant regulations.
1. Personal Data We Collect
Data You Provide Directly
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, payment details (if applicable), profile picture, and username.
- User Content: prompts, inputs, uploaded files, images, audio, conversations, outputs, feedback (including thumbs-up/down ratings), and any third-party integrations you connect.
- Communication data: messages sent to support, help channels, or our chatbot.
- Other: survey responses, event registrations, or identity/age verification information.
Data We Automatically Collect
- Technical and usage data: IP address, device type, operating system, browser information, timestamps, pages viewed, features used, interactions with responses, and user agent.
- Location information: general location derived from IP address (for security and relevance); precise location only if you explicitly enable it.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used for authentication, preferences, analytics, security, and personalization (see our Cookie Policy for details and controls).
Data from Other Sources
- Safety, fraud-prevention, or security partners.
- Publicly available internet data and licensed datasets used for model training and improvement.
- Marketing or business partners (where lawful).
2. How We Use Your Personal Data

- Provide, maintain, personalize, and improve the Services (including generating relevant responses and remembering preferences).
- Train and develop our AI models to make them more capable, safe, and useful (you can opt out of using your conversations for training at any time; see Section 5). Even if you opt out, we may still use flagged safety/review content or explicit feedback to improve safety and enforce policies.
- Communicate with you about updates, support, events, and marketing (with your consent where required).
- Ensure safety, prevent abuse/fraud, enforce our policies, debug issues, and protect users and our systems.
- Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and defend our rights.
- Conduct research, analytics, and aggregate/de-identified reporting.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. How We Share Your Personal Data
We share data only in limited circumstances:
- Service providers and vendors: hosting, payment processing, analytics, customer support, safety moderation, and infrastructure (they process data only on our instructions and with appropriate safeguards).
- Affiliates: within our corporate group.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
- Legal and safety: to comply with law, court orders, government requests, protect safety, prevent fraud, or enforce our terms.
- With your consent or direction: for example, when you publish conversations or link accounts.
- Business account administrators: if you use a team or enterprise workspace, admins may have visibility into certain usage (subject to their policies).
- Aggregated or de-identified data: shared for research or insights (not re-identified).
Third-party services you connect (e.g., payment gateways) are governed by their own privacy policies.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, to resolve disputes, meet legal requirements, or maintain safety records.
- You can delete individual conversations, memories, or your entire account via account settings.
- Deleted content is typically removed from active systems within 30 days (backups may take longer for safety or legal reasons).
- Temporary chats (if offered) are not saved long-term and are not used for training.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have significant control over your data:
- Opt out of model training: Go to Settings > Data Controls > "Improve the model" (or similar) and toggle off. This applies to future conversations.
- Access, correct, or delete data: Use account settings or contact [email protected].
- Export data: Available via your account.
- Marketing opt-out: Unsubscribe link in any email or Settings.
- Other rights (including under PIPEDA or applicable laws): request access to your data, correction, deletion, portability, or objection to certain processing.
For Canadian residents: We are accountable for the personal information we hold. You may challenge our compliance by contacting us. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days (or as required by law). Appeals are available via the same contact.
We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
6. Security
We use industry-standard technical, administrative, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security audits to protect your data. No system is completely secure, so we encourage you to use strong passwords and enable two-factor authentication.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it. Users under 18 may need parental/guardian consent; family linking options are available where applicable.
8. International Transfers
Data may be stored and processed in Canada, the United States, or other countries with appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses or adequacy decisions) to ensure equivalent protection.

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be notified via email, in-app notice, or on our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. The "Effective Date" at the top shows the latest version.
